Overview

The quality of education provided by the school is weak. Senior leaders, supported by the governors, have created a calm working environment where staff and students are beginning to tackle low educational standards. The school now has a more consistent approach towards improving the quality of learning and teaching. Academic achievement is not rising as quickly as it could because teaching does not consistently challenge the students or make the most of their abilities. There is still too much emphasis on the teacher imparting knowledge to the whole class at the expense of students having to think for themselves or consider things critically.
